Officer arrested for possesion of a gun!

Actor Dennis Farina was charged with a felony Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport after a loaded gun was found in his carry-on luggage. The retired chicago police officer and "Law and Order" cop had a .22-caliber handgun in his luggage. Farina stated that he had forgotten it was in his luggage. His bail was set for $25,000. When it was discovered that the gun was not registered bail was set to $35,000. He just got a little caught him in his role as a cop.

Louis Vuitton Involved with Darfur?

If Paris Hilton can hit thousands of headlines and photographs with a trendy Louis Vuitton purse and a pint-size pooch, surely another newsworthy figure can do the same, right? That's what Nadia Plesner was thinking when she designed a T-shirt featuring a "pimped-out" Darfur victim holding a Vuitton handbag and a dog that resembles Hilton's Tinkerbell. Her intentions were to show how messed up the media is. Instead of focusing on the events in Africa and raising awarness the newspapers are filled with celebrity photos and gossip. Now, Louis Vuitton is suing Plesner for falsely using their company name and making it seem that Louis Vuitton has to do with what is occuring in Darfur. Plesner recieved a cease and dease letter from Vuitton and she owed them $7,500. Plesner declined and wrote about it on her website. Everyday Plesner uses their name she is charged $7,500. She currently owes $20,000.

Liv Tyler, actress and daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, is splitting from her husband of five years, British rocker Royston Langdon."Liv Tyler and Royston Langdon have confirmed their separation. They remain good friends and devoted parents to their son Milo and are requesting that their family's privacy be respected at this time," Tyler's rep told People magazine.They got married in 2003, and rumors of their separation begain at the Gala Fashion Show.

A least one person stands up for Miley Cyrus after the Vanity Fair photo shoot where her bare back was showing and her bare chest was covered with a sheet, Hugh Hefner. He stated, “she'd be welcomed in the magazine," he said. "Very pretty lady. And I think to make such a big to-do over something as innocent as those photos, I think is a reflection on how schizophrenic America is about sexuality." Hugh told Miley that she can pose for Playboy anytime she wants- when she’s legal of age. Miley feels completely embarrassed about the shoot and expressed that it was suppose to be artistic and creative, but was the complete opposite.

Are the rumors true about Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey? They sure are. Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are finally stepping out as a married couple. Nick 27 and Mariah 36 got married at Carey’s Bahamian estate on April 30th. In addition, to their engagement rings they got matching tattoos. The believe tattoos last forever, just like their love. Only a dozen people attended their wedding, but they are coming back to New York to celebrity with the rest of their family and friends. The couple said “they already spoke about having kids”. I can’t see this relationship working out for too long, but best of luck to them.

Being a driver myself and seeing the gases prices I began driving less, but others have another solution. Driving at a certain speed gives you the most of your gas. With gas prices at $4 a gallon, people are using other sources of transportation and others just don’t drive anymore. As people are zooming past Joanne Papin going at 70 mph, she was going 55 mph. Some people would rather save money than time. "I read somewhere that around 62 or 63 was the best speed to drive to make the most of your gas," she said. Researchers say today's cars are most fuel efficient at speeds between around 30 and 60 mph. Not only are gas prices changing drivers habits but are reducing the demand for gas anywhere form 2 to 3 percent. A 2 to 3 percent reduction in the demand for gas can possible decrease gas prices. So now I have an excuse if I get pulled over for speeding in a 25 mph zone. 

Third Time is a Charm

DMX was arrested after speed-enforcement cameras captured him in his bright yellow 1966 Chevrolet going 114 mph in a 65 mhp zone on a suburban Phoenix freeway. DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was charge with criminal speeding, public endangerment, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license. Electronically activated cameras captured him three times driving at 100, 101, and 114 mph on Jan. 21 in his Nova II with a large “DMX” sticker on the windshield. Stars seem to think that they can get away with anything..guess not!

Uma Thurman's Stalker... Guilty

A Jury in New York has convicted Uma Thurman’s stalker. He will serve one year under misdemeanor charges and with good behavior can be out within 6 months. Jack Jordan a 37-year-old out-of-work lifeguard and pool cleaner has been stalking the “Kill Bill” star since 2005. His crush began in high school and as it progressed he decided that the two needed to be together. He went to far when he sent her a card with a drawing of an open grave, a headstone and a man standing on the edge of a razor blade. Jordan is a former mental patient who has been diagnosed as schizophrenic and bipolar and should be in psychiatric treatment, not in jail.

Lindsey Lohan’s troubles just never end; she is being accused of Robbery. January 25, 2008 Lindsey Lohan attended club 10ak in New York City. The plaintiff Masha Markova, a formal model and Russian émigré was there the same night. Markova claims that she was wearing an Italian-designed sheared blond mink that was priced at $11,229 to the club that night. She had placed her coat on a pile of coats and went about her night, upon her return she discovered her coat was missing. Two weeks later Masha was flipping through a magazine and discovered a picture of Lindsey Lohan wearing the fur coat. Markova immediately called her lawyer, and he got in contact with Lohan’s lawyer. The coat is now back in possession of Markova, but she is still suing for substantial punitive damages for the three weeks the coat went missing.
There are few piece’s missing to this puzzle and a lot of questions left unanswered: Why would Lohan steal a fur jacket? Did she really steal it if she returned it? Or is Markova just looking for publicity?

Warack Gets Caught

It’s like an episode from one of my favorite shows CSI. Gary Dourdan was arrested in Palm Springs, Calif. early Monday on suspicion of possessing heroin, cocaine, ecstasy and prescription drugs, according to a statement from the Palm Springs Police Department.Police found him sleeping in his car on the wrong side of the road. His bail was placed at $5,000. The only difference with this episode is that it won’t end in an hour and this time he was caught.

New claims against R. Kelly could affect his defense and decision of the judge. This has been a 5-year battle for R&B singer, charged with child pornography. A women who apparently had a three some with Kelly and another girl was fourteen when the she this was videotaped. She is planning to testify in court. The defense argued that it is not the same girl in the video, but a new witness has offered to testify who the girl in the video actually is. Looks like this is a never ending battle for Kelly.

I am sure everyone has heard about the man that is having the baby – shocking and unbelievable, but before opening your mouth and staring at the person who told you this rumor. You should hear the entire the story.
Thomas Beatie, 34, from Organ is a transgender man who is six months pregnant. He was born a female and decided to get a sex change done 10 years ago. He had breast surgery to remove glands and flatten his chest and began taking testosterone treatments. He refused to change any of his reproductive organs in hope of having a child one day. Well, that day is now. Beatie’s wife Nancy, who has two kids of her own from her previous marriage, artificially inseminated Beatie with sperm they purchased from a sperm bank. “The roles will not change in the house”, stated Nancy, “he will still be the father and I will be the mother”. The obstetrician that agreed to take care of Beatie, Dr. Kimberly James, stated that “This is a normal pregnancy.”

Earth Hour 2008

I stumbled upon this video when I signed online and the headline was Earth Day 2008.
I wasn't sure what Earth Day was. I thought is was a day when people get together to help save our trees and plants. I thought wrong. Earth Day is when people get together and for 60 minutes everyone turns their lights off. It's really interesting to see. I believe we should do it in New York as well.

I didn't get to see the fight because I was working, but if I did get the opportunity I wouldnt pay $60 to watch the fight. I know that Mayweather won, which is physically impossible, but rumors are that Mayweather recieved help from his bodyguards, well isn't that a fair fight. I guess Mayweather couldn't stand losing to a fake wrestler.

In recent events, we know that Britney Spears was taken to the hospital for the second time, but we were not informed that LA police had to spend $25,000 on escort and police officers just to get her to the hospital because the paparazzi was in their way. The city has proposed a new law aimed to protect celebrities from aggressive paparazzi. It’s referred to as the “personal safety zone”. The law suggests setting a minimum amount of feet that the paparazzi may stand from the person that the picture is being taken of. The law has not yet been passed, but there are many controversial issues that arise if this law is passed. Are we going against the 14th Amendment which guarantees equal protection under the law, and are celebrities getting more protection.
I always wondered why there was no law protecting celebrities from the paparazzi. They give them no space and make rude comments. If you were constantly being followed and taken photos of in your worst moments, the 14th amendment would be a poor defense, regular people have their space and their lives aren’t exposed to the world. Recently spotted Kevin Federline was not looking so buff. After gaining custody of his two sons, he’s been sitting at home with the kids. His weight is up to 205. He was spotted at Wilmer Valderrama’s pool party and did not take of his shirt all afternoon. So, what happened to the once buff back up dancer? People call it “daddy weight”, he’s a full time parent and his main focus is his two sons. Federline says that he is very happy with the way he looks, but maybe he should look in the mirror twice. While Federline gains weight Britney Spears is getting her once amazing figure back into shape. She hired a personal trainer and teaches dance lessons to younger kids.

The chances of meeting a celebrity these days are high. I, myself met Lil’wayne in Miami and Rick Ross in the city. With celebrity reality shows being the highest ranked shows watched on television, seeing one of the contestants from I Love New York, or Tila Tequila partying with you right by your side wouldn’t be a surprise. People will go on any television reality show to get their “five minutes of fame”. Everyone wants to live the life of a celebrity, but what happens when your privacy is out and open to the world? Leading a life of fame has its consequences and takes a toll on people. For example, Britney Spears, who recently lost custody of her two children and her father received custody of her. Constantly, being followed by the paparazzi and the gossips ruined her “good girl” imagine. So, think twice before entering into the life of a celebrity.
